Near the Rialto Bridge, the13th-century building Fondaco dei Tedeschi by architect Rem Koolhaas has been transformed into a 7,000-square-metre Venetian department store. The ground floor offers two of the things that Italy is famous for: fashion and cuisine. Experience Gucci and Bottega Veneta’s new concept boutiques, before savouring dishes at Amo, a restaurant designed by Philippe Starck in partnership with Michelin-starred chef Massimiliano Alajmo. You will also find wonderful souvenirs, from Italian gourmet products and wines in the Food Hall, to authentic ‘Made in Veneto’ gifts, through local partnerships. The mezzanine level houses the Loyal T Lounge with personal shopper.
The first floor is dedicated to women’s fashion, accessories, and Italian jewellery, while the second floor highlights watches, men’s fashion and accessories. One level up, Venice's most exclusive women’s shoes salon and largest cosmetics department beckon with artisanal excellence from ‘The Merchant of Venice’ fragrances to Aquazurra footwear brand. For travellers from outside the European Union, shopping is made easy by the multi-lingual staff and the immediate, automated tax-free service at the cash desks.
Throughout the year, T Fondaco dei Tedeschi also hosts art exhibitions in the Events Pavilion, which leads to the rooftop terrace offering an unforgettable, 360-degree view of Venice.
