Every year during January, food lovers descend on the mountain tops of Switzerland's prestigious alpine Engadin valley for it’s Gourmet Food Festival. In 2018 we see the celebration of the 25th edition of the festival whilst debuting even more more opportunities and offers from leading chefs and wine connoisseurs delivering a plethora of culinary delights. From January 12th to January 20th 2018 attendees can indulge in edible pleasures all under the backdrop of what is known as the ‘Top of the World’. On Friday 12th the festival will host the Grand Julius Baer Opening at the Kulm Hotel St. Moritz.
On three evenings during the festival wine lovers can rejoice at the fairy-tale castle of Hotel Waldhaus in Sila-Maria and witness Jan Martel and Benjamin Wolf present Burgundy’s selection of world-class wines.
For those who want to whet their appetite with a true culinary experience take their Gourmet Safari where you’ll be taken across snowy St Moritz and tour five different partner hotels of event locations. All whilst being spoilt with flavoursome dishes and wines served by Master Chefs.
On four afternoons Chocolate Cult will host a buffet of sweet treats made from the finest chocolates from creamy milk ganache or smooth hazelnut gianduja. Chef Pâtissier Stefan Gerber and his team will have you coming back each day for more.
Amongst Tuscan wine tasting and truffle and cheese sampling over the course of the week, this year’s festival is embracing the next generation of chef with their most creative young culinarians displaying plates, known as ’From Peak to Plate’, produced with 100% Swiss products. Located on the Grisons Alps, home to VALSER natural mineral water this event pays homage to a love of authenticity that plays with all the senses.
On Saturday 20th, the festival will close with the great BMW Gourmet finale at Suvretta House with a champagne reception and small samples prepared by five Executive Chefs from their partner hotels. Finally guests will be presented with an exquisite five course gala dinner prepared by guest Master Chefs accompanies by a live band to play with your musical appetite.
