On July 4th, the Spanish 46 years-old AP Ambassador, Miguel Anguel Jimenez won in Paris the Alstom Open de France. This is his second victory this season after Dubai last February.
With a total of 11 under the par, he captured the tournament by beating compatriot Alejandro Cañizares and Italian Francesco Molinari in sudden death after he had gone in the water when two clear on the final hole of regulation play.
With this win, he climbed to #32 in the world and increased his chances to take part in the Ryder Cup. He became the oldest player to win in Paris and the oldest winner on the European Tour season to date and the eighth oldest winner in European Tour history.
In his long career, he got 17 victories on the European Tour and participated at more than 500 events.
