IWC Schaffhausen is a watch brand with a highly developed sense of social responsibility, attentive to ecology and sustainability both in its production and its sponsorship activities. From 8 to 19 October 2014, IWC will be supporting the BFI London Film Festival as Official Time Partner.
The CEO of IWC Schaffhausen, Georges Kern, said, “For many years now, we have had a passion for cinema. Every director tells a story with his films. At IWC, storytelling is part of the DNA of everything we do. It is therefore an absolute honour and privilege to be associated with such a highly regarded institution and a film festival which has depth and substance and that is globally renowned and respected. Our desire is to nurture this incredibly special relationship, build an exceptional partnership, and to create and deliver impeccable events.”
The BFI London Film Festival previews some of the top films for the year ahead, and it also helps restore film collections worldwide.
The partnership between IWC and the BFI London Film Festival will run for three years, and it will include IWC’s sponsorship of the BFI fundraising gala ‘Luminous,’ which will take place in 2015, celebrating British film-making talent and raising funds for the BFI National Archive.
IWC has a long-standing relationship with the film industry, with its fans including Ewan McGregor, Kevin Spacey and Cate Blanchett. IWC watches have appeared on screen in “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps” and “Ocean’s Thirteen”.
