First launched in 1997, the Longines "DolceVita" collection has been a great success and is known for its elegant rectagular design. This year, you will find new versions that combine steel with rose or yellow gold. Oscar winning Actress Kate Winslet, Bollywood star Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, and the beautiful Asian actress and model Chi Ling Lin are the three Longines Ambassadors of Elegance, interpreting the Longines DolceVita collection in the streets of Rome.
At Baselworld, the talking piece for Longines was the DolceVita with a dial entirely set in diamonds. The dial of this new model is set with 212 Wesselton VS diamonds (0.508 carats) while the case is also set with 32 Top Wesselton VVS diamonds (0.269 carats). The steel and rose gold bracelet beautifully complements the distinctive shape of the case.
Suggested retail price: £5,520.00
The other steel and gold models in the Longines DolceVita collection are available in four sizes. Choices include a white dial with Arabic numerals and indices, a “flinqué“ silvered dial with blue Roman numerals or a white mother-of-pearl dial set with diamonds. The steel and rose gold versions are available with a white mother-of-pearl dial with arabesque numerals. Like the rectangular case, the bracelet also combines the brilliance of steel with the soft warmth of gold. Various models in this line are set with diamonds. For the Asian market - China, in particular - Longines has launched a mini version of the DolceVita to cater to the taste of Asian women. All the timepieces are fitted with a quartz movement.
