Omega presented its Ladymatic collection, along with the Seamaster Diver, James Bond's preferred watch since Goldeneye on, at an event on 31 March 2012 in Istanbul. Encoreist is an exclusive event for people who make a mark in academic, social and business life. Membership is by reference only. The gathering is held every two months at the Edition Istanbul Hotel.
The 31 March event saw performances by the Jazz Trio, with modern Latin and tango music as well for the principally young members from business and social circles. Proceedings continued with an after-party at the Billionaire Club. The event was hosted by the founder of Encoreist, Ertunç ÇiriÅŸ and Omega Turkey Corporate Communications manager Bihter Koray Ayyıldız. It included a display of the Ladymatic collection, for which brand ambassador is Nicole Kidman.
Ladymatic, an automatic classic since 1955
The Ladymatic was introduced in 1955 and at that time it was one of Omega's first self-winding watches designed specifically for women, with the smallest automatic movement ever made by Omega. Today, the models in the new Ladymatic line are particularly original for the wave-like grooves running around the edge of the case, which coordinate with the lovely dial in which the normal sunburst pattern is replaced by a spiralling pattern emanating from the centre. The bracelet also features wavy lines separating the links. The movement is the Omega Co-Axial calibre 8520/8521, with the Silicon balance spring that provides extra resistance to shock.
Seamaster, superb sports watches
The Seamaster collection is a classic amongst sports watches, and it's getting better all the time. The Seamaster 300 M Chrono Diver, first introduced in 1957, for example, now has the Omega 1164 calibre movement, and it has many professional divers' features, including a helium escape valve, screw in crown, unidrectional rotating diver's bezel, and a tough scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. It has been worn by James Bond, and also by the SBS British special forces. The legacy continues...
