Visiting European cities in the springtime is a dream. The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining, and the air is warm and pleasant; the world seems like a movie still from “The Sound of Music.” When planning your next spring holiday, keep these next locations in mind. Lesser traveled, these destinations will surprise you in their beauty, luxury, and overlooked gems.

Oslo

Do: The northernmost city on the list, Oslo is a sight to behold in the springtime. The city transforms for the national Constitution Day, celebrated on the 17th of May. Spend the day wandering the streets with the citizens during the children’s parade, being to sure to keep an eye out for a sighting of the Royal Family.

Set in mid-April, Milan’s Design Week hosts a plethora of exhibitions and events that are available for the public to view and visit. The city is full of life, cocktail parties, and installations that define the events. Paying homage to the 500th anniversary of Leonardo da Vinci this year, this week-long event is a must-see.

Dine: For an elite dining experience, Il Luogo di Aimo e Nadia, is the place to visit. Awarded with two Michelin stars, the restaurant offers a tasting menu, which allows guests to sample the traditional Italian food.
