Whether you're enjoying a European holiday or spending time in marvelously decorated New York City, here's' your guide for the best ice skating rinks in some of our favorite cities.

New York - The Rink at Rockefeller Center

One of the city's most celebrated winter events, ice skating on The Rink at Rockefeller Center is a classic tradition that has been around since Christmas 1936. Appearing in many movies with the enormous lit-up tree in the background, this is the iconic backdrop of every New York holiday for both residents and visitors alike. 

London - Natural History Museum Ice Rink


A magical setting for your London adventure, The Natural History Museum Ice Rink at South Kensington is a must this festive season. The rink is ideal for an afternoon spent skating, as it also has its own Alpine-themed Café Bar overlooking the rink. The largest open-air ice rink in Munich, the Eiszauber is full of fun activities, as it is surrounded by Christmas-themed stalls serving mulled wine and warm treats. The atmosphere here is cheerful and festive, and visitiors return every year for this beloved tradition.

Zürich - Dolder Kunsteisbahn

Built in 1930, Dolder Kunsteisbahn is one of the largest open-air ice skating rinks in Europe. Every year, a glorious Christmas tree illuminates the center of the ice, attracting visitors celebrating the holiday season in this extraordinary Swiss city. On Friday and Saturday evenings during the winter, flaming torches light up the ice, transforming the rink into an even more magical place.
