Fashion is taking a seriously hi tech approach to the new season, with designers turning to the power of social networking to beam their collections into the Twitterspehere and reach for global domination. At this week's London Fashion Week, Topshop Unique has decided to showcase a selection of its SS15 looks on its Facebook page ahead of the catwalk show, Burberry is rumoured to be selling its collection direct from the catwalk via Twitter and Henry Holland is taking things one step further, allowing online viewers of his show to try the catwalk looks on an avatar of themselves and buy anything that takes their fancy. Who needs a front row seat?
Home and Away
Jet setting with the little ones in tow can often feel more of a stress than it is a break, especially if you opt for the DIY villa option. As well as the insane amount of paraphernalia to pack and the perpetual 'are we nearly there yet' moans, trying to find a toddler or teen friendly home from home that doesn't skimp on style, comfort and amenities isn't easy. Instead of sifting though endless villas online, take a look at www.kidandcoe.com. Kid and Coe is a specialist villa rental company (a sort of up market Airbnb for families) who handpick gorgeous family-friendly holiday homes oozing with comfort, style and brimming with niceties for both big and little ones.
Michael Kors never disappoints. There is something so effortlessly chic about his clothes season after season. They are not too trend heavy, nor too bland and insignificant, but hit the style nail on the head when it comes to wearable and elegant on and off duty classics. And as the new collections reach the stores and our urge to splurge skyrockets, you can't go wrong by investing in Michael Kors. We love this complete look from his autumn collection - floaty winter floral midi length skirt, deliciously soft knitted chunky polo neck, luxe fur scarf, suede fringed bag and long tweed coat.
Wang on in there
There are only a few months to go before the much-anticipated Alexander Wang for H&M capsule collection hits stores, and this week we got a glimpse of what awaits us. First Rihanna stepped out in a truly sporty head to toe number from the collection, then Vogue Netherlands, Elle and Style.com all published pictures as well as the designer himself posting three looks on Facebook. And what a tough luxe, urban sports uniform it is. "Rather than creating affordable versions of expensive items," explains the designer, "I wanted to design true performance pieces that are within the natural price points of sportswear at H&M."
Alexander Wang for H&M is available from 6th November 2014.
