It may cost you a small fortune but the whole thing has been set-up for a charity.
Google’s chairman Eric Schmidt has teamed up with CharityBuzz to auction off a coffee meeting for charity, for which he will donate 30 minutes of his time.
CharityBuzz has already raised several funds for non-profits via auctioning time with celebrities, business executives and current day luminaries.
Since the organisation started this kind of ‘celebrity-date auctions’, it has been able to raise more than 100 million dollars. A similar auction took place earlier this year with Apple CEO Tim Cook, where it managed to raise over 330,000 dollars.
The one with Schmidt, on the other hand, has been estimated to bring in somewhere around 50,000 dollars. Not bad for a coffee date.
There’s still a few days to go before the auction ends but, as of now, the top bid stands at just 16,000 dollars.
The meeting will take place with Schmidt at Google’s campus in New York City sometime after the winning bidder is declared on August 14 and last 30 minutes.
