As the 2014 FIFA World Cup is almost upon us, it seems that more and more designers are taking part in the festivities. Indeed, Paul Smith is one of them and has just released a limited edition printed leather football.
To coincide with the launch of the ball, the designer has also released a short film by British director Oliver Hadlee Pearch featuring former football freestyle world champion, John Farnworth juggling his way through Paul Smith’s renowned Notting Hill store in London, clad in a dark suit, chic brogues and one of only 250 balls ever made.
The leather football is a size 5 and features a mix of chevron and striped prints in popular Paul Smith colours making it one of the most colourful pieces of soccer equipment to date. The collection comprises 250 pieces, and the football made of 100% leather also comes with a dust bag.
Retailing at 199 pounds or 335 dollars, the football bears the Paul Smith signature. However, one word of caution, if you play with this ball, any rough use will damage the printed leather - the price of exclusivity, I'm afraid!
