Forget chocolate Easter eggs, we’re talking about an extravagant diamond encrusted one, and just in time for Easter.
Dubbed the Mirage egg, it has taken three years to make by the world’s elite craftsmen across three continents. This is to be sure the world’s most expensive diamond encrusted egg.
Created by Manfred Wild, the egg has 1,000 diamonds on its "shell", worth 1.5 million pounds alone, 100 of which, are a unique cut. The egg opens up to reveal an ornate globe in 18carat gold.
Inside the globe lies a rock crystal dove with a gold beak and gems for eyes, seen perching on a lavish gold olive branch. The dove and olive branch were hand carved in gold to represent world peace.
The gem is privately owned by a mysterious collector.
