This new collection, available in Montblanc boutiques from June 2012, is an example of class and versatility in men's jewellery. The pieces, ring, cuff links, bangle and chain, complement any outfit, from jeans and white shirt to tailored shirt, partly for its material, sterling silver, and its motif.
'Grains de riz' is based on alternating oval beads that create a textured pattern, resembling interwoven bands or strapwork. The other visual motif is the very subtle 'three rings' theme on the edges of the pieces, a reference to the company's three founders Claus-Johannes Voss, Alfred Nehemias and August Eberstein. The classic six-pointed white star appears on the cuff links: it is a schematic depiction of Mont Blanc seen from above, a logo that dates back to 1913.
The 'grains de riz' pattern is enhanced by the oxidation treatment used on the silver, which adds a dark lustre to parts of the jewellery pieces, adding contrast.
