Mikimoto proudly introduces new lines of premier design jewelry at Baselworld 2010 to be held at Basel, Switzerland, from 18 to 25 March 2010.
Baselworld is the world’s largest and leading exhibition for watch and jewelry. Mikimoto has been an exhibitor since 1996 at Baselworld, where the latest collections are constantly premiered. Integrated with distinctive craftsmanship and delicate design developed over the course of more than a century, Mikimoto presents nine pieces of magnificent haute couture jewelry lavished with South Sea White cultured pearls, South Sea Golden cultured pearls, South Sea Black cultured pearls and Akoya pearls (bead-nucleated cultured pearls).
Inspired by the concept of a rose garden, the extraordinarily crafted Mikimoto necklace with exquisite diamonds and ornate cultured pearls is set in a harmony of South Sea Golden cultured pearls and South Sea White cultured pearls, with understated artistry within the distinctive rose theme. Another magnificent piece, created in accordance with the "high tide" motif, exudes all the intensity of the diamonds, as they blend naturally into the glamour of the graduated Akoya cultured pearls. This spectacular design evokes the essence of the sea, and creates a three-dimensional visual effect reminiscent of the power of Mother Nature.
Devoted to elegance and perfection, the close cooperation between Mikimoto designers and craftsmen turns these subtle yet adventurous designs into reality. It truly represents philosophy behind Mikimoto pearls with the Maison's uncompromising pursuit for premier design jewelry , elegance and beauty, factors that the House of Mikimoto has consistently defined since 1893.
