Van Cleef & Arpels have introduced a new product in the Bals de Légende series: the colourful Cantatrice clip from the Proust Ball.
This clip is a tribute to the famous French writer Marcel Proust's major sources of inspiration: Music and Opera. The Cantatrice clip is in white gold, round and rose-cut diamonds, red spinels, yellow gold, yellow sapphires, and mandarin garnets.

Van Cleef & Arpels presented the new season’s collection with a rather unusual theme, a small number of remarkable balls, the Bals de Légende. They are the Proust Ballle Bal du Palais d’Hiver (Winter Palace Ball), le Bal du Siècle (the Ball of the Century), the Black and White Ball, and the Oriental Ball. Each jewellery piece is accompanied by a beautifully designed presentation box.
The Proust Ball was hosted by Baroness Guy de Rothschild, who celebrated writer Marcel Proust’s 100th birthday anniversary on December 2, 1971, organizing a ball in Ferrières. Each guest had to go to the ball dressed in an outfit designed according to one of Proust’s 2,000 characters from his work In Search of Lost Time.
