Fine British jeweller Blacklock Jewellery has worked with jewellery designer Laura Jayne Strand to create a stunning diamond and tahitian pearl pendant valued at £2,850. The Xanadu collections features three pendants in total – the diamond pendant, an 18ct white gold and peacock black Tahitian pearl retailing for £750, and a pendant in 18ct rose gold and chocolate brown South Seas Pearl retailing for £1,250. This collection takes inspiration from the Gothic romantic dream poem, the ‘Kubla Kahn’ where the idea of ‘material paradise’ is created. This breathtaking pendant is a sculptural piece inspired by sweeping, fluid shapes.

Chris Blacklock comments, ‘This collection is a beautiful design that works on many levels. The shape is very distinctive so we decided to create it in several different fine metals and materials to extend its appeal.’
Ralph and Chris Blacklock continue to design the Blacklock Classic Collection as well as bespoke pieces for which Blacklock Jewellery are well known. The Seasonal Collection is updated throughout the year and their full collections are revealed on their website, or call 0203 086 8778 for details.

Robert March Blacklock established Blacklock Jewellery in 1832 in Bedford Street, Sunderland. His aim was to provide the opportunity to buy beautiful, refined jewellery to the region for the first time. Robert succeeded and Blacklock’s became established as one of the first diamond merchants in the North of England. Today, six generations and more than 175 years on, Blacklock Jewellery is still family-owned, operating out of the North of England and London. Together with designers Sophia Chalklen and Laura Strand, father and son team Ralph and Chris continue the tradition of creating bespoke jewellery refined and finished to the highest possible standards.
