The ice blue continent that has long captivated travellers and adventurous souls is the touchstone behind Moreschi’s fall-winter collection, a destination that represents the ultimate in the exploration of new materials and shapes. Drawing upon the magical nuances of The Pole’s environment, the collection infuses immense tones of blue, from glaciers to the bright sky, as well as elegant grades of dark brown, chestnut, beige and shades of grey.
Highlights include the clean and sophisticated slip-on pony mules, second-skin driver shoe, the smart double-monk sneaker, traditional hiking boots and sheepskin penny loafers. The sports shoe dons a fresh and contemporary twist with slip on versions, and sneakers that take on strong shapes and structure with an extra light rubber sole, water-resistant finish, and a light and flexible feeling.
The brand also collaborated with students from Instituto Marangoni Milano in an effort to promote and recognise young talent. Research was conducted at the Moreschi factory where students could analyse raw materials and study the meticulous work of the Vigevano artisan. Three projects stood out in this creative initiative, a collection of ‘Genderless’ footwear for men and women that combines sober masculinity, subdued elegance and feminine charm – laces, strings, Arctic tones and experiences on the land and sea take centre stage. The winning projects –a series of loafers, hiking boots, and sneakers - are intelligently designed with a mixture of materials that both mirror and honour Moreschi’s heritage and know-how, winning a spot on the shelves of Moreschi’s FW 2018 collection.
