Mulberry has opened its first store in Vienna, in the Goldenes Quartier luxury shopping district. The brand's expansion throughout major European cities continues, reinforcing the Mulberry identity by means of spaces with characteristics distinctive to the British brand.
The new store, with a display area of 262 square metres, was designed by British architectural company Universal Design Studio, who focused on Mulberry's dedication to craftsmanship. Natural materials such as timber and limestone create an implicit link to Mulberry's roots: the brand was founded in 1971 in the English countryside. Oak wood is used as a subtle reference to the brand's heritage of highest-quality leather crafting.
One of the store's more unusual features is a window display with a series of specially-made music boxes, painted with countryside and London city scenes. The boxes were made in England, and they play themes such as God Save the Queen, Hey Jude and London Calling, as well as Viennese favourites.
An exclusive Del Rey in black alligator
The store stocks men's and women's bags and accessories, and women's seasonal accessories, shoes and ready-to-wear garments. It is featuring an exclusive model: the Del Rey bag in black alligator, specially made for Mulberry Vienna.
July afternoon tea on Saturdays
To celebrate the opening, the store offers Afternoon Tea with a Viennese twist every Saturday in July, from 2.00 p.m. to 4.00 p.m.
