Supermodels Naomi Campbell and Coco Rochas open and close the red carpet-worthy show

NEW YORK - Zac Posen spring/summer 2013 recalls a 'Pretty Woman' kind of vibe, right around the point where Julia Roberts' Vivian has been on her infamous VIP shopping spree and she's rocking her skirt suits and ballgowns down Rodeo Drive and the halls of the Beverley Wiltshire Hotel. Colour, colour, colour! There was no throughline in terms of Posen's chromatic choices, one moment we'd be blown away by iridescent fucshia and the next we'd be pulled back to subdued with a muted grey chiffon bustier dress.

If we got a bit distracted at the start of the show, can you really blame the effects of a Naomi Campbell sneak attack? Campbell looked every bit the Forties femme as she opened the show at New York's Lincoln Centre in a floral brocade dress with a sweetheart neckline and flowy skirt. Red was a colour repeat and a welcome one at that with our favourite look of the show: a satin red fishtail evening gown that we are willing to bet good money will be on a Hollywood starlet come a month's time.

The closing number on Posen-favourite, Canadian supermodel Coco Rochas was over-the-top, but a stunner nonetheless with what looked like a fanned bow emerging from either side of the bustier and a multi-tiered skirt that assembled many different eras of glamour gowns.
