Louis Vuitton - introducing the Shanghai Maison Featured

All aboard! Step inside the impressive new space with us

SHANGHAI - In an event only Louis Vuitton could pull off, the French maison
marked 20 years in China with the launch of its 16th worldwide maison, an
elaborate space that takes over four floors of local shopping landmark Plaza 66.

Marc Jacobs alongside the Louis Vuitton train

The opening ceremony was preceded by a 5,779 mile train journey from Paris to
Shanghai which pulled into the famous Bund for its final destination. The train marks
the brand's fall/winter theme dedicated to the 'Art of Travel.' Creative Director Marc
Jacobs was on hand to toast the new flagship as well as your token fashion-circuit
celebrities like Alexa Chung and Clémence Poésy.

Haute Maroquinerie salon

Designed by LVMH go-to architect Peter Marino, the design is characterized by a flashy,
lit up cube exterior, custom-made Louis Vuitton furniture throughout, a jaw-dropper of
a spiral marble staircase and dedicated men's, women's and accessories areas and a
Haute Maroquinerie salon to customize your pieces. In an homage to its beginnings in
stylish travel trunks, Louis Vuitton appropriately honours its past while making one giant
commercial step into its future on the Chinese market. Most definitely a must see when
you're in town.
