Fashion Show Review of the new minimalist women's collection

Minimalism and fashion reduction have always been at the heart of the Jil Sander brand DNA. Sander herself was referred to as the ‘Queen of Less.’ This season we saw clean cuts and minimalist trends in the form of futuristic milk maids and fashion forward Kansas farm girls. Creative Director Raf Simons says this collection is the last installment of his ‘couture’ trilogy which explored the practices and styles of traditional woman’s couture.

We saw plaid checkered suits in light, upbeat colours that reminded us of a romp in the country circa 1880, netted Sunday-best Church hats with a fifties vibe and intricate sixties style patterns that lit up Asian-influenced dress silhouettes. Minimalistic, floor length white cotton dresses appeared to be a study in straight and simple bridal. Colours from the Jil Sander palette were white, blue, acqua, pink, black, yellow and emerald green.
