The name Luisa Spagnoli is synonomous with classic Italian luxury. Since 1928, the House of Spagnoli has been manufacturing the finest in women's fashion from its base in the Italian town of Perugia. Founder, Signora Luisa Spagnoli's fashion sense and business acumen were well before her time, she set up a philosophy and operation that continues to this day as reflected in the brand's new Fall/Winter collection.

Luisa Spagnoli is undoubtedly for a woman of classic taste, but what we love about the new line is that it moves eloquently into modern styles and still maintaing the time-honored design traditions associated with the brand.
Warmth and softness
Luisa Spagnoli presents a new collection that revolves around the idea of having an ensemble for every occasion. The season's essentials are the incredibly warm and soft knit garments that use asymmetrical and symmetrical lines to envelop the female figure. The knit pieces vary to work for both day and night to give a casual chic look in the daytime and a couture look for the evening.
Our must have pieces are the Luisa Spagnoli capes with large draped collars inspired by British country style. Coats and outwear feature down jackets and anoraks fionished in leather and soft fur, smaller coats are done in a more fitted cut with buttons and trims in a fun 80s style leopard pattern that we're seeing a lot among the top designers for next season.
The versatile flexibility of the garments for Fall/Winter are a definite deal-maker when it comes to functional fashion. A classic a-line dress that comes with a frilled removable waistband gives you two outfits in one. A warm wool knit sweater with a matching attached turtle neck means you'll never have to worry about throwing an outfit together in a rush.
The Bon Ton 'proper' style is ever present in the new line with masculine cut jackets complete with belts and dress suits accented with lace and velvet detailing. On the other side of the collection is a style that gave us a flashback to the 80's. Form fitting cocktail dresses reminded us of Julia Roberts' post makeover in Pretty Woman. The dresses (done in velvet, angora or matelassé) slid a bit off the shoulder and sparkled with Swarovski stone embellishments.
Colours & Materials
The Luisa Spagnoli woman wears classic blacks, whites and navy blues to fare well for an occasion. This season she can mix it up with red, fuchsia and bottle green along with colours recalling the landscapes of an English countryside in beige, brown, sand, icy blue and diverse nuances of grey.
The star material for Luisa Spangoli has always been the Angora rabbit fur which comes from a breed of rabbit Luisa Spagnoli herself began specially cultivating in Perugia from the early days of the brand. Other textures include cashmere, velvet, wool and cottons.
Looking ahead to the Christmas season we already spot a great selection of thoughtful pieces in Spagnoli's accessory line. What better gift to give someone than a piece of Italian luxury history? We suggest items like the fur and satin stoles in honey colours or spotted shades or high waisted 50's style belts. The handbags, hats and gloves are a classic salute to the style of 1950's high society.
