Dolce and Gabbana's young D&G label came out in a colourful romp at Milan Fashion Week. The brand threw back to primary school days with a runway that had the letters of the alphabet projected on to it in monochrome and depicted against primary colours in a neon palette.
The collection included everything from cute and playful tight fitting knitwear, chiffon skirts and boyfriend blazers. The traditional autumn colours of yellow and orange got a D&G revamp with flowery, swirling shirts and tight leggings imprinted with black patterns. Multi-coloured horizontal lines (almost Missoni-esque) dominated a great deal of the collection in the form of shorts, trousers, leggings and pantsuits.
The D&G accessories for Fall/Winter 2011-12 are high heel sneakers and alphabet necklaces, bracelets and earrings. Our favourite part of the show was the finale when the models sauntered out in colourful feathered tutus. Needless to say, we're already looking for a good occasion to justify a tutu.
