Tod’s unveiled its S/S 2011 collection last Saturday in the lovely Villa Necchi Campiglio in Milan. The setting provided the perfect backdrop for a collection of shoes and handbags that lived up to the company’s emphasis on quality craftsmanship, understated elegance, and modern design.
An instant classic and the highlight of the collection is the Shirt Bag. Constructed of the softest, most luxurious leather, the bag is roomy, incredibly lightweight, and collapsible, making it perfect for travel. Another highlight was the collection of clutches and wallets in colorful python skin.
I was really impressed with the shoe collection. Nestled among the always fantastic classic car shoes, was a stylish collection of sandals and vintage-inspired heels, with shapes and material combinations that I found quite unique: leather laces with metal aglets, cone-shaped heels, and brass studs on wood. Perhaps my favorites from the shoe collection were the colorful suede ankle boots in colors like mustard yellow and electric blue.
