Burberry and leather motorcycling clothing sound like quite a breakthrough. In the Luxos reviews of current fashion trends, as seen on the runways of London and the showrooms of Milan, Burberry of course figure strongly for its originality and there is no doubt that the new collection is a remarkable success. It features a wonderful selection of items inspired by the ‘biker’ look.
Leather is everywhere! From slim skinny pants to mini, tight-fitted jackets, ultra soft leather is combined with a variety of fabrics to complete the look. The colours are predominantly neutral tones such as beige and black, most adorned with spikes and studs.
Leather accents and trims are everywhere, from quilted leather patterns decorating jackets and pants to leather straps and buckles on dresses, tops and accessories.
The Burberry girl is aggressive yet feminine. There are wonderful, daringly short silk dresses, some of which are featured in pastel colors such as salmon and mint, or bolder greens and violet, yet all with a touch of aggressiveness – leather trims and buckles.
The bijoux was also inspired by the biker look. Bulky bijoux jewelry in gold or silver includes rings and bangles with motorcycle motifs adorned with studs and spikes.
The collection also features slim leather biker pants and jackets in silver for a more space-age look. Python is also featured to spice things up in soft leather jackets and handbags, and there are colored prints for dresses and tops.
Though color is not the predominant factor, the collection’s accessories provide a splash of energy and brightness. Handbags and belts are in vibrant colors such as turquoise, lime, orange, fuchsia, and mustard yellow.
However this look could not be completed without the shoes. All in black, these pointed booties have extremely tall (115mm) and incredibly slim stiletto heels that provide a sleek and slender look.
