Featuring the brand's signature combination of geometry and femininity

Stella McCartney has opened her first store in Milan, located in the heart of the city’s top fashion shopping centre in via Santo Spirito, close to Via Montenapoleone. Situated inside an 18th century neoclassic historical Italian building, the store reflects an intimate, personal and architectural atmosphere housing the Stella McCartney collections of the latest urban fashions . Simple material combinations are sculpturally contrasted, creating an interior design equivalent of Stella’s characteristic style, based on a combination of sharpness and femininity.

The store has a floor area of over 168 square metres, on two floors, The building's classical architecture is combined with a mixture of antique brass sculptures, specially crafted by local Milanese metal workers, and, on the ground floor, superb parquet flooring in sustainable oak, designed by Yael Mer and Shay Alkalay for Established & Sons, in Stella McCartney’s usual colour palette of plums, pinks, blush, flesh colour and taupe. In contrast, the upstairs floor is in a harmonizing white colour scheme with chromatic accents. White diamond shaped ceramic tiles and white steel sculptured wall fixtures are highlighted with colourful organic felt box units, which are modular and so can be assembled to create extra display space. The original ceiling frescoes have been preserved, creating a contrast with the very contemporary furnishings.

The store presents the brand’s luxury women's ready-to-wear garments, shoes, bags, sunglasses, organic skin care products, lingerie, and the performance range made in partnership with Adidas. A private wardrobe service will also be offered to clients. Stella McCartney launched her own fashion house under her name in 2001, in a joint venture with Gucci Group. A lifelong vegetarian, Stella McCartney does not use any leather or fur in her designs. The brand’s luxury collections are also available through its other 16 flagship stores including London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Paris, as well as through about 600 wholesale accounts in key cities worldwide.
