Salvatore Ferragamo: Collection Fall-Winter 2010 Featured

The new Salvatore Ferragamo woman

Iconic and sophisticated with a modern sensibility. Dynamic yet quietly elegant. A woman with influence and direction. Like Greta Garbo, a pioneer of contemporary attitudes. Elusive but sensitive to the soft side of things: the new Salvatore Ferragamo woman.

Refined detailing defines the vision with a sense of freedom and non-conformity. A confident spirit, she is naturally elegant in her day-to-day dressing. She chooses the sartorial rigour of caban jackets, trench coats and capes edged in leather and fur. Stylistic passe-partouts, double-breasted jackets and short, double-sided camel jackets. Wide trousers with pleats in traditional patterns (chevron, check, houndstooth) meet fabrics of sheer softness in the fluid transparency of a silk shirt, animated by necktie-style lurex stripes. Blouses and scarves feature patchworks of flowers, petals and feline, the animalier prints which have always been a stylistic hallmark of the Maison.

Novelty knitwear with three-dimensional braiding, sophisticated crochet work and rich textural applications. The luxury of ultra-soft leather pervades the entire collection, from the mini-shorts to the tricot suede waistcoat, from the hems of tailored overcoats to the lining of the broadtail fur. Jewellery belts sculpted in metal sparkles at the waistline, together with decorative elements on bags and pochettes.

The handbags are impressively developed combining leather and suede, crocodile transformed into suede or made in sumptuous baby caiman.

Footwear showcases a new, contemporary lifestyle linking tradition and evolution: sandals and lace-ups with a sinuous curvature are inspired by Opanca, the iconic construction from the Salvatore Ferragamo Museum.

Focal points of light come from chunky bracelets and sculptural necklaces, creating the magic of accessories with organic shapes. The unique contrast between the antique opacity of wood and the polished shine of metal.

A tale of rhythmic atmospheres, saturated tones of nature, autumn illuminated by flashes of lurex. Shades of camel, cognac, sage, khaki, to the enveloping density of Africa brown and petroleum blue blended with touches of gold and copper.

The warm and sophisticated unity of tailoring and femininity: discreet luxury that exudes confidence and style.

Simple and sophisticated forms. Immediately recognizable iconic elements. Such is the aesthetic of whispered luxury.
Salvatore Ferragamo bags speak in a coded language of “gancio” and “vara” motifs.

The iconic lines of Salvatore Ferragamo are clothed in soft fur: pony, lamb, mink and lapin.

Extraordinary crafting gives bags a surprising 3D look. Lapin inserts look like petals. New bags in exquisite mink, in various shades from white through honey to brown.

This is the season for patchwork, in the finest Ferragamo tradition.

Combinations of skins, textures and colours. Metallized leathers, ultra-soft nappas, crocodile and suede in a display of refined craftsmanship. Chic and timeless bags in neutral tones: greys, blacks and browns ignited by red, blue and amethyst. Exotic skins: a practical and contemporary line of fashion items in snakeskin creating graphic effects (rendered even more special by hand finishing on the central “gancio” and handles).

A new collection of bags characterized by a new, stylized metal “vara” motif. Chic and feminine, the new chain mail bags. Signatures in diagonal across nylon shopping-bags define the style of the new day totes - young and appealing.
The grosgrain “vara” decoration (pure Ferragamo) adds a touch of exquisite femininity, in the season’s new colours.

Clean and sophisticated elegance that rediscovers a taste for pure lines. A new collection of pumps with a simple yet ultra-feminine design. The ones that made the Marilyn Monroe style so famous.

An inseparable pair: Salvatore Ferragamo and women’s shoes.

A celebration of the “plain pump”, with or without platform, featuring micro-perforations borrowed from the men’s repertory and wooden heels (11 cm of sensuality).

The collection has drawn cleverly on archive material. The “gancio” device merges with the grosgrain in a line of footwear with strong personality.

The undisputed centrepiece is an exquisite patchwork model that combines the creative agendas of both bags and shoes, thus giving the accessories collection a precise, univocal identity.

Leather and nabuk inlays joined together with exquisite hand stitching. Exclusive creations: patent leather pumps with embroidered hexagons.

The hexagon, in fact, is the new shape this season, decorating the new half-heel (3 and 5 cm) ballerinas. The Audrey continues its success, now in the collection’s new colours - amethyst, amber and amaranth - and in suede or metallized leather.

The sports models have become even more sumptuous: drivers, rain boots and the new sneaker with a rubber sole and 5cm heel.

The pure elegance of black and white in super-feminine pumps and spectators, with refined straps and new slightly pointed toes, with a retro flavour.

Open-toe models graced with embroidered paillettes, creations of sheer luxury for the Salvatore Ferragamo woman’s red carpet walking.

The force of a fantastic, imaginary nature in the feline eyes looking out from Salvatore Ferragamo foulards. Ferocious beasts reclining on beds of tropical flowers and fronds.

These motifs are from the classic Salvatore Ferragamo collection: patterns that are instantly recognizable in their hallmark luxury and femininity.

A revived animalier look, spots all-over prints, with blotches of fading colour in the background and impressive effects of light and depth.

A refined choreography of butterflies with speckled wings open in flight, against soft and delicately coloured grounds. The elegant palette of the season in fact: baked browns, violet, aubergine, warm nuances of grey. Touches of lurex. An absolute elegance of form and colour, in scarves, stoles and foulards. In the new collection format: a 110 x 110 cm maxi-carré of silk.

Embossed leather gloves, in various lengths, with knitted inserts and mink trimming.

Soft fur cachecols, shrugs and hats.

A rich collection of fashion jewellery, small objects to treasure or give as gifts: all bearing the “vara” or “gancio” motif.

Fusions of metal in various finishes, spattered with Swarovski crystals.

Delicious bijoux shaped like flowers, hearts, arabesques.

Necklaces and bracelets with coins, decorated by “vara” and “gancino” motifs and intricate pale gold and polished palladium filigree.

Exclusive wood and metal creations exemplify the grand design of Salvatore Ferragamo.
