Almost directly across the street from its shop at No. 40 Avenue Montaigne, Chanel opened the doors of another brand-new boutique with a party on Tuesday night (6 March 2012) in Paris. The new space consists of two floors and has a total floor area of about 6,500 square feet. Some design elements include walls covered in gold tweed, a stunning white marble staircase, and chandeliers created by the goldsmith Goossens.
The guests that came out to celebrate Karl Lagerfeld’s latest grand opening and the store’s interior designer Peter Marino included an enviably elegant Anna Mouglalis, Astrid Berges-Frisbey, Poppy Delevingne, Laura Bailey, Virginie Ledoyen, Kaya Scodelario, Elisa Sednaoui, and Irina Lazareanu. On the ground floor, accessories, handbags and shoes were positioned for the guests to see. On the second floor, designed in the form of a chic yet comfortable apartment, complete with lush curtains, plump sofas, noteworthy works of art (including an Ingrid Donat and an Olga de Amaral), and a gorgeous fireplace, Chanel’s ready-to-wear collections were displayed.
