Vivienne Westwood's latest collection is named "London", as a tribute to her city in the year of the Olympics and the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. The collection is based on Vivienne's fascination with the heroic eras of the past, in which artists, intellectuals and scientists were pivotal in creating the British national identity. The collection features a blend of styles and cuts, including a revisitation of structure corsets, elaborate draped fabric, and the embroidery typical of theatre costumes. Make-up and hair are inspired by Rubens' heroines.
Vivienne Westwood also asks London to switch off unnecessary lights during the night. "We all have to contribute to halting climate change. We have to start by changing our habits in order to save the planet. See the stars, artists, scientists and intellectuals unite!"
