Limited edition golf shoes for a good cause

Royal Albartross has launched 15 pairs of “Mooka” Limited Edition Golf shoes. They combine luxurious Italian White Calf leather with trims made from spotted Nguni hides. Nguni cows are the favoured breed of cattle of African tribesmen as they are highly fertile and strongly resistant to disease. They are generally beautiful spotted cows with large curved horns.

For each pair sold, a donation of £200 will go to the Bob’s for Good Foundation who give children in South Africa hope, dignity and pride through a new pair of school shoes when they would otherwise risk injury walking miles, barefoot, to local schools. A leading cause of disease in developing countries is soil-transmitted diseases, which can penetrate the skin through bare feet. Wearing shoes can help prevent these diseases, and the long-term physical and cognitive harm they cause. Often, children can't attend school barefoot because shoes are a required part of their uniform. If they don't have shoes, they don't go to school. If they don't receive an education, they don't have the opportunity to realise their potential.

For Royal Albartross and the Bob’s for Good Foundation, it’s simple. Educating the youth is the key to Africa’s future and through the gift of new shoes, it can actively promote the importance of education by keeping learners happy and in their classrooms. And because Bobs for Good school shoes are South African made, there is the added benefit in that every shoe purchase is helping contribute to jobs and wealth creation in the country.
So you can walk the greens in style and with pride knowing that for every pair of Royal Albartross Mooka golf shoes purchased 20 children will receive new school shoes. You can also rest assured that the full £200 goes to the purchase of shoes, the beneficiaries are strictly screened with help from the government and grass roots NGO’s so it knows exactly which individual children from each school is genuinely in need of the footwear being donated.
Royal Albartross have a strong and fiercely defended policy of being animal friendly and have chosen to stock these unique golf shoes with a clear conscience that the Nguni hides come as a by product of the meat industry where these cattle are bred and slaughtered primarily for food and not for their beautiful hides.
