Milan Design Week has come to an end, time to wrap up and… to think of the next destination. The Italian kermesse might be one the most interesting appointments on an international scale but, as the design industry very well knows, it is far from being the only one. Among the main protagonists of Milan Design Week, we have definitely seen Ventura Projects, curated exhibition areas that present the latest developments at the forefront of contemporary design, with a special attention to emerging trends, quality and innovation, new production methods and niche projects.
10 years of Ventura Projects
With 2019 marking its 10th anniversary, Ventura Projects returned to via Tortona, in the same place where it was originally conceived, hotspot for Design Week’s most avant-guard exhibitors. After having taken Milan and having turned a former workshop (BASE) and a few warehouses located next to the central station into design venues by setting them up with no less than 83 exhibitions and 17 installations by both international established designers and young talents, Ventura Projects is now ready to move to New York.
Ventura New York - the Dutch edition
After two successful editions in 2016 and 2017, Ventura New York - the Dutch edition is coming back, this time part of International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) which takes place from the 19th till the 22nd of May 2019 during the New York Design Week. Showcasing the best of Dutch contemporary design, the mission is to support Dutch studios and brands by giving them a stage oversea and to introduce the American industry to new designers. Amongst the participants we find Aleksandra Gaca and her innovative woven textiles (which will be presented in 3d) and arianeSké, with their seating products focused on comfort and ergonomy.
Ventura Around the World
On top of this, if you wish to follow Ventura Projects around the world, don’t miss Ventura Dubai (17-19 September 2019, still accepting entries!), Ventura London and Ventura Berlin.
