A Lamborghini returns adorned with the SV logo and becomes an instant icon. It is hard to find the words to describe the latest newborn from the Sant’Agata stables, the spectacularly stunning Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce, dedicated to a clientele on the quest for outstanding performance.
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce is a top-of-the-range model with a markedly purist and even more extreme design, more powerful, lighter and faster than the Murciélago LP 670.
The output of the 6.5 liter V12 delivers 30hp more than the traditional Murciélago, while a total weight loss of 100kg gives the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce a power-to-weight ratio of 2.3 kg per hp. This catapults it from 0 to 100 km/h in a breathtaking 3.2 seconds – two-tenths less than the LP 640 – and powers it to a top speed of around 342 km/h with the small rear spoiler, while the new aerodynamic setup of the large “Aeropack Wing” option and its added downforce gives a top speed of 337km/h and more directional stability.
While the exceptional driving dynamics are a dream, even more surprising is the 100kg weight loss versus the LP 640, the result of a focused reworking of the chassis – with carbon fibre components riveted to a tubular steel frame - the bodyshell, the engine – 26kg lighter thanks to the completely new exhaust system – the transmission and the interior, lighter by 34kg.
With its enhanced purist design each one of the 350 limited edition cars immediately reveals its brutal power, thanks to a transparent engine bonnet made in carbon fibre, inspired by the fabulous Reventón, transparent polycarbonate hexagonal plates and open layers towards the rear. High performance, precision driving and maximum dynamic stability at top speeds are the key features that make the Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce the ideal ride for advanced sports car drivers.
