You could consider this, the Lamborghini Reventón. You would certainly get heads turning, because it's one of only 20 manufactured, and it's probably the only example in the UK. The Reventón was first presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007, and the entire series of 20 units was sold before the car had even been presented to the public. It has a 6.5-litre V-12 engine that takes you from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds, and up to a top speed of 340 km/h. Performance is enhanced by its carbon fibre bodywork, with design inspired by the F-22 Raptor. The series number is indicated between the driver's and passenger's seats.
The exterior of the car was the truly revolutionary aspect when it was launched, because the engine and engineering was based extensively on the the Murciélago LP640. At its launch, Lamborghini organized a 3 km race between a Reventón and a Tornado jet fighter. The Reventón led for most of the race, only overtaken by the Tornado in the last few metres.
You can view the car at the London Motorexpo, at Canary Wharf ffom 11 to 17 June, a free-to-visit event open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. (Sunday 11 a.m.-5 p.m.). The Reventón will be on private sale at the event – expect a price of around £1 million – along with many other models placed on sale by H&H Classics, by marques such as Ferrari, Pagani, Maserati and Koenigsegg.
Manufacturers of contemporary cars will also be present, exhibiting vehicles available for visiting and even test-driving on the road. Brands present include Bentley, BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz and Land Rover.
