Sculptor Umberto Cavenato used the CR&S "Duu" as a model for an "abstract motorbike" made après Futurist painter Fortunato Depero. The sculptor can be seen at an exhibition in Turin, Italy, until 20 November 2011.
"I saw a picture of the Duu in an illustration, almost by chance. Fantastic! I wanted to see it face to face, and that's how I learnt about CR&S: committed, inspiring, visionary, different: I found them very exciting". This is how Cavenago describes his encounter with the Milan-based motorcycle manufacturing company.
In Turin, the Duu is exhibited alongside the first model by CR&S, the Vun, in a special version in green, white and red, the colours of the Italian flag. The Duu is an entirely hand-made bike, and it can be extensively customized for each purchaser. Over 180 of these prestige motorcycles have been booked, and the waiting list runs to 2012.
The show runs at Officine Grandi Riparazioni, Corso Castelfidardo 22, Turin, until 20 November 2011. Open until 2 June 2011, and from 19 September to 20 November, Mon 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Tues, Wed, Thurs and Sun 9 a.m.-8 p.m.; Fri and Sat 9 a.m.-10 p.m. From 3 June to 18 September 2011, times as above, except that it is closed on Monday. €10
