Damien Hirst creates contemporary art with Panerai

by 01 November 2011

Some would say watchmaking is an art, or some might say that art should be a part of watchmaking. So what does Damien Hirst have anything to do with a Panerai sponsored exhibition going on in Milan right now? The British artist has created two new works using more than 1000 Panerai watch dials to create the “Beautiful Sunflower Panerai Painting” in the “O’Clock. time design, design time” exhibition at the Triennale Design Museum.

From now until 8th January 2012, come explore the relationship between time and design in Milan and see how eight Panerai watches are each displayed in their own ‘environments.’ You will get to see such rare pieces as a Radiomir from the 1930s and a Luminor from the 1940s.
