The Savoy overlooks the River Thames and has its own private Savoy Pier. This summer, its motorboat The Silver Darling is available for guests to enjoy private Champagne River Cruises throughout the summer. Ideal for two people, the price includes half a bottle of champagne per person.

The Silver Darling is a luxe river taxi, with plush interiors created by Matthew Hilton, Royal Designer for Industry. It has a state-of-the-art sound system to which you can connect your iPod, a limited-edition diamond-dusted Damien Hirst artwork, cut crystal Swarovski luminaires, and an intimate, secluded deck.

The river is scenically inviting from the pier. Its curve and views from Waterloo bridge have been admired by artists and authors over hundreds of years: just think of Monet, Whistler, Canaletto and Charles Dickens. Today, from the boat, you can enjoy a totally new vista of the Palace of Westminster, the London Eye, Southbank and Westminster Bridge.

The London Savoy is working further on its riverside facilities. The new Savoy pier is scheduled to open in early 2014. It will be a stunning new venue, the most luxurious and ecological private pier on the River Thames, against a backdrop of the Savoy Hotel and flanked on either side by Cleopatra’s Needle and Waterloo Bridge. Guests will be offered a VIP concierge escort from the River Entrance of The Savoy, through the original Savoy Place Garden gates.
