Chanel designer Karl Lagerfeld is the latest fashion designer to lend his design expertise for a new casino hotel set to open in Macao in 2017. The 270-room Karl Lagerfeld Hotel is located in Lisboa Palace, a 20-storey tower complex in the gambling enclave in southern China.
Lagerfeld has previously worked with Sofitel So Singapore, to develop a Karl Lagerfeld designed luxury Suite, the suites at Hôtel de Crillon in Paris and the Hotel Métropole in Monte Carlo where he provided his expertise in the hotel’s revamp and their Odyssey Restaurant.
The hotel will be developed by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau (SJM) and Lagerfeld, under his own brand, Karl Lagerfeld Greater China.
The Lisboa Palace complex will offer a full range of non-gaming facilities including approximately 2,000 hotel rooms from The Lisboa Palace Hotel, Palazzo Versace Macau and Karl Lagerfeld Hotel, a number of Michelin-starred restaurants, a themed retail mall, a wedding pavilion and a multi-purpose theatre for large-scale events. The casino complex will provide up to 700 gaming tables and over 1,200 slot machines.
