PJ Clarke's

A historical destination for high end cuisine, PJ Clarke has attracted guests, honourable and local, from Jackie Kennedy to Frank Sinatra and local New Yorkers.

by Catherine Hamilton

Opened in 1884 and among the oldest establishments still running today, The New York Times coined PJ Clarke’s as the “Vatican of Saloons.” The widespread popularity over the century has inspired PJ Clarke’s to open an additional four locations: two more in New York City, one in Washington D.C., and a fourth restaurant in Philadelphia. We recommend taking a trip to the original kitchen located at 915 3rd Ave, opened by Irish immigrant, Patrick Clarke. Dress for the occasion.
