Crosstown Dinner Experiences in Milan

To love Milan is to really know Milan. It is said that to experience the city's beauty, you will have to open the doors of the elegant palazzos and there you will be overcome with architectural masterpieces oozing with lush gardens.

That means, venturing beyond the surface to discover the city's many secrets. The same holds true to decode Milan by night. LUXOS recommends four addresses to add to your 'favs' as a night to remember.

Da Mimmo Milano
Located in the Porta Venezia district of Milan, this restaurant boasts a cozy and warm atmosphere that is truly unique. Its vintage-chic interior, complete with wooden furniture, white wrought iron beams and soft lighting, create a welcoming space that makes each guest feel at home. The menu is full of simple, authentic dishes made with the freshest ingredients of the season. Each dish is exploding with flavour, making it Mimmo-memorable. The Bar, Le Scuderie, is housed in the old stables of the building, which is how the bar got its name, and is the first part of the restaurant you pass before sitting down. Their apertivo is the perfect way to kick off the evening. Since it’s opening in 2011, Mimmo has become one of the most popular fine dining experiences amongst tourists and locals alike.

If it’s your first trip to Milan and you’d like to see the entire city in one night, may we suggest going old school with dinner aboard the Atmosfera, a dedicated tram that tours the city and hosts private dinners by reservation only. This unique experience serves guests in old tramcars that have been redesigned to provide a comfortable yet authentic atmosphere. Beginning at Duomo, the tram circles the city, showing guests every historic and popular site in the city. Every dinner tour lasts around two and a half hours, and there are different menu options available. When reserving your spot, you can select amongst fish, meat and vegetarian dishes, and once aboard, the waiters will serve you based on your reservation request. The wine list has been carefully chosen to perfectly accompany all items on the menu. This is one of the best ways to enjoy Milanese cuisine while also enjoying the scenes of Milan by night.

This is the first flower bistro in Milan, and it’s hard to imagine how no one thought of this before. The owner of the shop, Rosalba Piccinni, envisioned a place where one can enjoy a meal in the same amount of time that it would take her to prepare a flower bouquet, and she did just that! Potafiori is a flower shop that is open to customers by day, serving breakfast and meticulously crafted lunches and appetizers, all set in a space that is infused with the aromas of plants and fresh flowers supplied by local farmers. The experience is quite simply uplifting and energising. After sunset, Potafiori turns down the lights to host dinner and live music sessions. The dinner menu offers creative and unusual recipes, each eloquently presented and designed. Each dish is like a bouquet of flowers – unique, colourful and exploding with flavour. Kick back, enjoy your meal and listen to Rosalba serenade you while she creates a beautiful work of art. This place is already booked two weeks in advance so be sure to reserve a dinner table.
