Having a midnight wardrobe crisis? Need somewhere to dine that date after dark? Jetlag playing havoc with your sleep routine and seeking somewhere to work it off in the early hours? Unlike New York, Madrid and Mexico City, London is very much a city that still likes to sleep – until now. For all that could be changing, as the London Underground turned 24-hour during weekends from September and a burgeoning army of restaurants, clubs and salon services begin to open around the clock. While the destinations selected on these pages are designed to address your every need – from grooming to gourmet – there are a plethora of other restaurants, gyms and casinos to welcome you around the clock, alongside a multitude of salons, eateries and bars that have extended their hours to clients during the early hours or after dark. La Bodega Negra and Bob Bob Ricard welcome diners until 1am, Pisco Embassy and The Scotch of St James host late night antics, while salons such as Blow Ltd are now open from 7am and many other big name stylists offer breakfast blow-dries from 8am.
