Lisbon's Best New Restaurants Featured

Home to some of Europe’s finest seafood and a world recognised port, Lisbon’s dining scene has a growing reputation. With three of the city’s restaurants having been awarded their first Michelin star last year, Portugal’s capital goes beyond custard tarts and a strong beverage. LUXOS explore’s Lisbon’s best new restaurants that you must trial.

Cervejana Liberdade
A tribute to the Portuguese actress, this Lisbon based restaurant serves up some of the city’s best fresh fish that is sourced from over 800km of Portugal’s coastline. We recommend tasting the oysters or spider crab that can be served as either a fillet or as Latin America’s famous ceviche dish. If seafood doesn’t take your fancy, their mouth watering succulent steak sandwiches are full of flavour.

Leopold
Located in one of Lisbon’s most prestigious hotels, the Belmonte Palace, Leopold began as a humble bakery by Tiago Feio with his wife. Uniquely this dining establishment doesn’t have a stove but instead boasts a selection of ingredients that are cooked in sous-vide and other cooking techniques that do not require heat. For the experimental diner, we highly recommend Leopold for a culinary Lisboa experience.

Café Colonial
For the diner who likes a luxury interior, this restaurant’s inviting space of green velvet sofas are just the start of their dining experience. With a menu of Portuguese inspired dishes around the world and in particular in Asia and Brazil. Diners interestingly like the hoisin duck with noodles or roasted piglet. All accompanied with local wines and a view over the whole city.

Tapisco
Portuguese chef Henrique Sà Pessoa wanted to create a melting pot of Spanish cuisine in the heart of Lisbon. Inspired by the Iberian dishes he found on frequent trips to Catalonia, Tapisco serves tapas with a Portuguese touch. LUXOS recommends their croquetas de jamon or the huevos rotos accompanied by one of their signature cocktails that are prepared in their window for passers-by. With an open dining feel set up this establishment is friendly and inviting for the city traveller.

Beco
Inspired by the days of a bygone era during the 1920s-1950’s, Beco’s extensive menu and impressive cocktail list creates a gourmet cabaret for the well to do diner. Futhermore, accompanying it’s sophisticated atmosphere and cabaret show, chef Joze Avillez’s 12 course tasting menu will give your senses moments of delight and surprise.
