The St Regis Istanbul Hotel's own

The St Regis Istanbul

Art deco influenced hotel with rooftop restaurant and views over Maçka Park and the Bosporus.

by 04 May 2015

This newcomer to the luxury hotel scene in the Nisantasi district is chic and contemporary with all the hallmarks of the high end luxury St Regis brand. Overlooking Maçka Park and the Bosporus, yet nestled in the heart of Nişantaşı on the European side of Istanbul, it’s well located for designer boutiques, contemporary art galleries and top-end restaurants in Istanbul’s version of the 5th Avenue. A short cab ride get you to the key tourist sights, and the Asian side of the city.

Designed by Turkish architect Emre Arolat, the St Regis Istanbul reflects Istanbul’s Twenties Art Deco era, along with the style conscious contemporary cool of Istanbul. The exterior is clad in aluminium and copper, inside interiors are equally sophisticated with natural earthy tones and sweeping curves alongside natural materials like bronze, marble, leather and wood.

The St. Regis Istanbul is also home to an extensive art collection by renowned names like Botero, Sam Francis and Andy Warhol together with pieces by internationally acclaimed Turkish artist like Devrim Erbil, Bedri Baykam, all courtesy of Demsa Collection of Art. The decor of the public areas continues seamlessly into the bedrooms, with the same autumnal colours, veneers and contemporary art.

St. Regis's 118 sumptuous rooms are designed by the award winning Emre Arolat Architects and come with floor to ceiling windows and views of Macka Park and Bosporus or the Abdi Ipekci shopping street. Spacious bathrooms are decked out in bold grey-striped Marmara marble, and have separate dressing rooms.

With an iconic rooftop location and wraparound alfresco terrace and city views, barrel vaulted ceiling and glass walls Spago is one of the go-to restaurants in town. The vision of master Austrian star chef Wolfgang Puck, the restaurant contextualises fine contemporary cuisine with a Californian bias. On the ground floor, the Ard Deco-inspired St Regis Brasserie is less formal, offering French brasserie cuisine and some Turkish influences.

The sumptuous Iridium Spa in the basement has seven massage rooms, indoor pools and a hammam.
