Frankfurt: Where to Shop this Summer

It wouldn't be a weekend away without a little retail therapy. Frankfurt agrees. This buzzing metropolis is full of shopping opportunities and we've picked our favourite to peruse this summer.

 Spazio Concept Store

Owner, Inge Winterberg, opened Spazio in 2004 and one upsize later she’s still going strong. Inge’s taste is feminine and pretty and her loyal customers return to her again and again for classic yet modern and innovative pieces. Stocking a range of fashion, homeware and gifts, Spazio is well worth the slight trek out of town. Anchor brands include Chie Mihara, the fashion insider’s go-to shoe brand, Tara Jarmon, Joseph, Bash, Baum & Pferdgarten and L’Autre Chose. Inge’s also happy to advise and recommend, and you can even browse whilst quaffing champagne (or something lighter!) should you wish.

Frankfurt Flohmarkt

Frankfurt’s foremost flea market is held every Saturday morning in either Sachsenhäuser Mainufer or Osthafen. The Germans take their flea marketeering very seriously so expect a wide selection of vintage items, second-hand household items, antiques, art, bicycles etc. in relatively good condition. Get in early to catch the sought-after items or take a leisurely stroll with a coffee and enjoy watching the locals go about their business.
