Tribeca Kitchen & Bar
Tribeca is one of Dubai's newest New York inspired, healthy restaurants. This chic, urban eatery located in the JA Oceanview Hotel in JBR (Dubai Marina) offers a farm-to-table concept. Tribeca offers a mix of delicious organic and non-organic food and beverages. We happened to stop by on Friday and were treated to a high-energy performance from one-man band; Adam Baluch. This talented singer, songwriter and guitarist incorporates a loop station, beatboxing, rapping and various instruments to create his unique sound. We were seriously impressed with his rendition of "Juicy" by Biggie Smalls. You can see Adam every Friday, playing a mix of chart, soulful jazz and funk.
We were over the moon when we heard that Toko, one of our favourite Japanese restaurants has launched a live music concept called "Live at Toko". Kicking off this launch is the talented Dubai based Funk Reggae Neo-Soul R&B band Abri & Funk Radius who will be performing every Saturday for the month of April. Enjoy smooth sounds while dining on delicious contemporary Japanese cuisine in the heart of Downtown Dubai.
Iris is one of our favourite rooftop bars located in Business Bay, near Downtown Dubai. On Sundays, the talented Angel and The Band take the stage from 9:30pm. Sip on refreshing cocktails and listen to Angel perform the hottest cover songs. There's something for everyone with a mix of classic Rock, classic Pop and the latest commercial hits with a twist.
Blue Bar in the Novotel hotel next to the World Trade Centre is one of Dubai's oldest haunts for live music. Regulars book tables next to the stage to see Kicksound and Colombian pop princess Fatinza jam together every Thursday night from 10:30pm. You can expect a mix of blues, classic rock and funk. Guests are encouraged to request songs by shouting them out — don't expect a quiet night at Blue Bar. You'll be rocking and rolling all night long.
The Music Room
The Music Room is at the centre of the UAE's thriving band scene, offering everything from local rock music to events dedicated western bands and tribute acts. The venue is also the place to go for the big-name touring international acts, along with their house band Magnetic, who play every week. Located inside the Majestic Hotel, here you can meet the locals and dip into homegrown talent. Don't forget to try their signature drink 'Jack Twist' whilst you're dancing.
