7 of the best jazz clubs in Barcelona: where to hear a live set tonight

The Raval's jazz club reopens this month. Here is which door to knock on, and on which night.

Barcelona is not the city anyone names first for jazz, and it has been quietly better at it than most for a hundred years. The proof this month is a door in the Raval that has been shut all summer: JazzSí Club reopens on Friday 18 September 2026, and the opening night is free. Elsewhere the Gothic Quarter’s oldest concert room has just come back from its holidays, and the basement on Plaça Reial is already selling out its September dates. You have an evening free in Barcelona. Here is which door to knock on, and on which night.

The reopening: JazzSí Club

The Raval’s jazz club has been dark and it is back. JazzSí reopens on Friday 18 September 2026 with a free opening event at 19:45.

Tickets are €14 to €17 at the door. Book ahead and they are €12 to €15. Doors are from 19:30 to 01:00, and to 02:30 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The one everybody knows: Jamboree

Jamboree is still Barcelona’s club of reference, and the basement under Plaça Reial has earned it. Chet Baker played here and put it better than we can: “Barcelona was magnificent in December of ‘63. After Paris, it almost looked like a tropical city. I closed a deal to work for a month at a basement club that had been offering jazz music for some time.”

Tickets run €19 to €25. Sets start at 19:00 and 20:30, early enough that the rest of the night survives them. Book: several September dates are already marked sold out.

The raw one: 23 Robadors

Jazz in Barcelona does not come rawer than this. The jam is on Wednesdays at 21:00 and costs €5; other nights are €10, with sets at 20:00 and 22:00 and a programme that alternates jazz with flamenco through the week.

The oldest room: Harlem Jazz Club

Harlem has been running 33 years and describes itself as the oldest concert venue in Barcelona.

Jam sessions are €11. Doors are 20:00 to 03:00 on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and 19:00 to 02:00 on Sunday. One warning worth having: the club was closed for its holidays until 28 September, so check the listing before you walk down.

The elegant one: Café Vienés at Hotel Casa Fuster

The Modernista pile at the top of Passeig de Gràcia is worth the walk for the building alone, and on Thursdays its cafe turns into a jazz club from 21:00 to 23:00. The hotel no longer publishes the tasting menus it once sold with the ticket, so treat this as a drink and a set rather than a dinner.

It is the formal room on this list, and the one you can book at short notice. Choose it when you are taking someone who does not want a basement.

Jazz with dinner: Little Italy

Established in 1988 in El Born, Little Italy serves Mediterranean cooking with Italian touches and puts live jazz on from Tuesday to Thursday and on Sunday evenings.

One practical note the search results will not give you: the restaurant’s own domain, littleitaly.es, has lapsed and is now listed for sale. Book by telephone.

After midnight: Marula Café

Marula has been lighting up Escudellers since 2011 and calls itself the temple of groove. That is fair. Funk, afrobeat and Latin rhythms rather than a seated set, with a jam on Tuesdays. It is where the rest of this list goes when the sets have finished.

Related: Flamenco fashion: a guide — two of these doors alternate jazz with flamenco, and it is worth knowing what you are walking into.

If you are planning one night only, make it a Wednesday or a Thursday. The Robadors jam and the Casa Fuster set both fall midweek, they are a short walk apart, and neither needs the month’s notice that a weekend table at Jamboree now does. More travel guides to the city are worth a look before you book.
