Located on Barcelona’s most exclusive boulevard at Passeig de Gràcia 113, this five-story palatial mansion, built in 1906, is an extraordinary example of Modernisme (the sumptuous Catalan version of Art Nouveau). The architect, Pere Falqués, is also known for his ornate lampposts that are sidewalk landmarks at the Passeig de Gràcia. He was a contemporary of Antoni Gaudí whose acclaimed buildings are nearby. Housed inside are six two bedroom two bathroom city style suites offering a new concept in city living.
Forty-five original ceilings with ornate moulding, superb carved-wood doors, stained-glass windows, mosaic tiles, wrought iron ornamentation, dramatic staircases and the traditional elevator have all been meticulously restored. Then there’s the modern minimalist interiors, decorated in bright white with shots of grey; kitted out with fabulous furniture courtesy of top talent: steel wire Platner chairs, Saarinen dining tables, Jacobsen egg armchairs and Mies Van der Rohe leather seats.
The six suites are bright white beauties and extremely spacious each accommodating up to four guests. Similar in layout, the suites feature a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room, living room, contemporary furnishings, and state-of-the-art technology throughout. Rooms have colour-rich views of Barcelona street life and Tibidabo Mountain and one comes with its own terrace.
Guests enjoy utmost privacy at the rooftop private spa and landscaped terrace with a panoramic of the cultural capital. Spa facilities include a wooden Finnish sauna, treatment rooms and massage tables, outdoor jacuzzi with hydro-massage “beds”, and solarium for sun tanning.
Whilst there isn’t a hotel restaurant you certainly won’t go hungry; if you want a private chef, a fully stocked fridge, a delivery of organic treats or a personally prepared breakfast each morning just let the property know. And with so many dining choices on the doorstep you won't miss having a restaurant.
A personal assistant is assigned to each suite throughout your stay: multilingual, knowledgeable about Barcelona tourism, museums, shopping, entertainment and dining to help you discover Barcelona from the inside.
