torronsTurrons Vicens

Turrón, or nougat, like many other Spanish foods, has Moorish origins. This honey and almond confectionery, which used to be enjoyed only during Christmas, can now be found in stores throughout the year. Turrón’s artisanal factor makes it a special sweet, and there are two traditional versions, jijona (also called ‘blando’ for its softness, with a smooth, delicious peanut butter-like sweetness) and duro (hard) from Alicante, with more almonds. Each piece is hand-made, and every turrón is unique.
