Part of the luxurious Italian QC Terme spa chain this stunning resort is located a short drive from the town of Bormio, close to the Swiss border and the legendary Stelvio Pass.
Bormio has been drawing visitors for centuries and it’s easy to see why. Stunning mountain vistas, fabulous skiing and mountain sports are all in addition to the famous thermal springs which are known for their curative properties.
First opened in 1836 the Grand Hotel Bagni Nuovi underwent major restoration work in 2003. This beautiful five-star hotel with its Venetian and Art Nouveau decor now offers the utmost in luxury with many of the 74 light airy bedrooms and suites boasting white marble clad bathrooms with hydromassage baths fed by the famed thermal waters.
The hotel offers a number of dining options from the grand Ristorante Salone dei Balli, located in the ballroom, to the more relaxed Light Café which faces the spa garden where you can dine in your bathrobe.
But the star of this resort is most definitely the spa. Spread over a huge area the Bagni Nuovi offers four different spa and wellness areas, each with many separate zones or treatments through which guests can move at their leisure.
The Giardini di Venere garden is a regenerating outdoor spa and sunbathing area with a 110 square metre pool offering 360 degree mountain views as well as mud peels, hydro-massage, and saunas. The subterranean Grotta di Nettuno offers a series of detoxifying treatments, ranging from the warm and relaxing to the invigorating (and very cold) Scottish shower. The Bagni di Giove section, the basement of the hotel offers hydrotherapy treatments that are perfect for easing aching muscles. And finally the Bagni di Ercole offers thermal workshops, saunas and more.
