Where to lunch in Abu Dhabi

Log-off, shut down, go lunch.

Abu Dhabi's working culture means plenty of people don't get time to take a lengthy lunch break, but if you can can sneak away from your desk we've found the perfect places for a variety of needs: from quick break bistros, healthy cafés or restaurants to entertain clients and terraces where you can dine all the way to sunset, we have the definitive list for you.

No. 57 Café: Sophisticated comfort food & chic décor

57No. Fifty Seven Boutique Café

Two Emirati girlfriends who share a love for food and design opened No.57 after founding the hugely successful The Dinner Club by No.57 in 2012. Set in the Bateen Harbour, this café is the perfect lunch spot with ample natural light and a clean black, white, grey and wood theme. The café’s menu melds seasonal ingredients with traditional and international flavours, tempting guests to fall in love with a new favourite each time they visit. And the highlight: if you’re a fan of eating breakfast for lunch or dinner, you’re in luck, their breakfast menu is available until 6pm daily. We recommend the Lobster Linguini.

Jones the Grocer: Australian brand with a healthy & hearty menu

Jones-the-GrocerJones the Grocer

Jones the grocer delivers a full gourmet experience to its guests. This artisan-style eatery conjures visions of a modern European deli complete with a walk-in cheese room (yep ‘walk-in’) and freshly baked pastries. The walls are filled with shelves full of gourmet, specialty foods that are tempting to buy. The menu changes daily, using ingredients sourced from around the globe, including dishes using ‘chesse of the day’ and artisanal meats. We recommend the slow cooked duck shawarma with homemade date jam. Six locations in Abu Dhabi.

The Bentley Bistro & Bar, The Galleria: French-inspired for steak lovers

Bentley-BistroBentley Bistro

For shoppers who need to rest and replenish after shopping at The Galleria Mall, the Bentley Bistro & bar is a refined and modern, fully licensed French inspired bistro. If the weather permits, sit outside on the terrace and enjoy a glass of wine with your meal. If you enjoy a good steak, the Bentley Bistro has a fantastic selection. We recommend the Grass-Fed Natural Fillet 200g, grilled zucchini.

This funky, fast-casual restaurant specialises in wraps, salads and bagels made with fresh ingredients. There’s a salad bar where guests can make custom salads. Another added plus is that they serve RAW coffee. Every Saturday of the month, they have performances by budding local talent. Try their baked falafel balls.
