Facing the very chic Parc Monceau, just a few minutes’ walk from the Arc de Triomphe, the Champs-Elysées and the prestigious boutiques and art galleries of the rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the Hotel du Collectionneur enjoys an ideal location.
A glitzy tribute to the Art Deco movement, with a strong focus on travel in the materials used and in its references to the luxurious cruise liners of the era, the Hotel du Collectionneur allows guests to relive the elegance and sophistication of the 1930s. Homage to the townhouses of Paris’ great bankers like Rothschild, for which the 8th arrondissement was known, the hotel was heavily inspired by the French Art Deco designer Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann’s original Hôtel Particulier created for the Universal Expo of 1925. The result is a dazzling patchwork by architect Stanislas Fiszer and interior designers Jacques Garcia and Alexandre Danan. Think sparkly crystal chandeliers, heavy velvets, and extensively patterned marble floors as well as a grand staircase (from reception down to the banquet rooms), inspired by Auguste Perret’s 1930s designs.
The spacious 478 rooms and suites surround the central Andalou courtyard. About 40 rooms and suites have private terraces, some with views of Paris and the Eiffel Tower. The materials used further reference the leisure travel revolution of the 30s like Brazilian Rosewood for the doors and Macassar ebony, as well as black granite and jade. Guests staying on the executive floors can enjoy the executive lounge and numerous privileges like an all-day food service. Whether on business or pleasure the eight different room categories and five different suite categories will accommodate every type of guest.
The restaurant Le Safran serves modern, refined French cuisine, which can be enjoyed in the Art Deco dining room or on one of the hotel’s two terraces. The Purple Bar offers a selection of cocktails created monthly by the young team of mixologists and light meals can be savoured on the terrace or in the hushed indoor setting.
The intimate and luxurious Mosaic Spa by Decléor & Carita offers a wide range of treatments as well as a hydro-tonic bath, steam room, sauna and gym. The spa can also organise private exercise sessions in the neighbouring Monceau Park.
